Originally a concrete box, which was built in 1974 by comrades right next to the historic town hall right in the center of Kolín, it underwent a demanding and expensive reconstruction on its fortieth birthday. Above all, the facade and the roof insulated, the windows, entrance doors and all the glass elements were replaced, and the building thus got a more contemporary and above all more human face, last but not least, some spaces increased.

The biggest currency of this building is the large hall, in which almost all of the Cologne ball season takes place. Autumn is then marked by dance courses, which take place here every Friday for years. However, this space is also suitable for organizing concerts, seminars, corporate or demonstration meetings, parties and other events, for smaller meetings it is possible to reduce it with a fabric divide.
